Both ALIAS and Giacomo Spazio, considered street-art pioneers, have been working on new pieces to be presented specifically at BLOOOM, along side Linda’s Ex, who will also be providing new work to grace the West Berlin Gallery walls.
Among the three previously mentioned, West Berlin Gallery will take the liberty to present our latest show, currently up for viewing at our gallery space in Berlin - Utopia by Hara Katsiki , a 2010 Young Illustrators Award winner from Greece. Last, but not least, Chow Martin, a tattoo artist turned fine artist, will join our dynamic team in Cologne with his deconstructed, anatomical hybrids of man and animal.
Last year BLOOOM counted 32.000 art lovers and supporters and with all of the positive feedback we are confidentially aiming for an even higher number in visitors this year.
If you are looking for an opportunity to not only enjoy all that is contemporary art from a variety of international presenters, ranging from fine arts, design, music, performing arts, fashion and literature to radio broadcasting, architecture, press, advertisement, software, and games, but to also rightfully invest in the growth your art collection, don’t miss this chance to join us as we present our most exclusive works-in-progress at Germany’s biggest contemporary art fair of this year – BLOOOM.Street-taught, self-made, ALIAS delivers a great deal of gravity through his loaded imagery and mindful aesthetic. From barricades and buildings to gallery walls, one immediately knows whose name they bare. And although distinguishable, his stencils are always evolving and the medium constantly developing.
Giacomo Spazio is an Italy born, Italy based artist. In 1975, he started writing poetical phrases on the walls of Milan. At that time, he was one of the first Italian artists to make the streets his go-to canvas (1975-1987), making himself a lead in the Italian Street Art movement. Nowadays, Giacomo lives in Milan, Italy. Still working on his art, Spazio belongs to a collective of artists in which he founded: the “Limited No Art Gallery” – an independent art gallery launched in 2006 to promote art, without prejudice.
Hara Katsiki is a Berlin based visual artist and designer. Born in Athens, she worked in Greece until 2008 as an award winning art director and designer. After exploring different creative fields, she now works as a freelancer, exploring and expressing her inner world through the means of illustration, animation, costume design and film.
Toronto-based artist Chow Martin is an illustrator whose works are very raw and sleek designs. He primarily uses ink and charcoal on Mylar, and draws mythical and primitive creatures.
Infamously known as Linda's Ex, this heartbroken illustrator set out to convince his lover to take him back by putting plastered posters and stickers throughout the city and soon got the attention of many others. This street-art project “Lindas Ex” ruined his day-night cycle, but the campaign made it as an exhibition at the Berlin Museum für Kommunikation. Quite an achievement!
